Dominik Kolenda and Dzielnicowy Ośrodek Kultury Ursynów are honoured to invite everyone whom it may concern to take part in the international Japanese mahjong tournament – Retro Mahjong Taikai: Kuromāku edition.

The tournament will be held in Dzielnicowym Ośrodku Kultury Ursynów , Kajakowa 12b st. in Warsaw on February 22nd 2020.

Retro Mahjong Taikai is an event, which commemorates the 11th anniversary of mahjong’s reactivation in Poland in the Spring of 2008 and 96th anniversary of it's first appearance in Poland. Ranking system and play rules will resemble those used at the tournament in 2009. Only traditional bamboo sets will be used, along with tenbō point sticks - an equipment, which is rarely seen at the tournaments nowadays. Taking advantage of the old rules, once again you will have the opportunity to collect all the classic yaku sets, grab those Red Fives, but you might also receive one of our retro fines.

The tournament is under the auspices of the Polish League of Mahjong. It has always been a Polish tradition that the best 4 players are awarded along with the holder of the last place, who wins a booby prize – a tears wiping towel.

Yours faithfully,
